Blue skies AND sunshine
As we have had a bit of a run of dry-ish weather, and no immediate rain is forecast till Sunday now, we decided to let the sheep back into the 4-acre field. The gateway and beyond is sectioned off with a temporary fence so they cannot come down to the really muddy, wet bits and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked the rest of the field, how dry a lot of it was.
Relaxed at Home
The sheep have been in and out a fair bit as we attempt to give the land a bit of a rest and also their feet, winter being a bad time for scald with land being so wet. They do seem to adapt well to whatever we ask of them although we have noticed Master Brown getting a bit ‘frisky’ with some of the ewes when inside so having a bit more space will be a good thing for them.
Next week is set to be pretty horrid though so maybe they might be back in again after the weekend...
