New growing area
Stage one of starting to develop the new growing area was moving the pig arc which we managed to do this afternoon. It went amazingly well thanks to the quad. We tied several old climbing slings together and used them to firstly pull the arc over on its top, before then slowly dragging it out of the old pig plot. It was then a simple matter of hoisting it the right way up again, making sure of course it was in line with the fence: no wonky objects on our smallholding thank you very much - straight lines and right angles only!!!
Despite the rains, the ground was remarkably dry thanks to the wind and we left virtually no damage. We are due to be hit by Storm Ciara tomorrow mind you so it was good timing on our part!!!
Next job is to trim the hedge at the back and order fence posts and stock fencing to fence the whole area off, and of course make a decision about the actual polytunnel and get it ordered.
