A new floor
We have wet walls in the poultry stable (as the photo rather wonderfully shows!!) as the roofing sheets aren't long enough to extend right over the guttering, meaning when we get really heavy rain and winds (like now), some rain gets blown back under the roof and drips down the walls. It's a legacy from the building we inherited and probably only totally solvable by replacing the roof!!!
The biggest issue is the water dripping down onto the floor and soaking the straw. Around midday today wenhad the idea of building a 'false' wooden floor, a bit like decking and having talked through the design whilst walking the dogs, by 3.30 it was done!!!!!!!
We still have wet walls but the straw should now stay dry and tomorrow's mucking out should be so much easier.
