Record breaking!!
Today has been one of the hottest days ever recorded in the UK with temperatures of over 38 degrees in some places (east of the country we believe). Here is sunny Devon we got to late twenties and that was more than enough for us.
Most of the animals sought shade for5 much of the day and the general consensus was that such hot weather was fit for neither (wo)man nor beast.
Relaxed at Home
The fly numbers went up, not surprisingly, so there was much swishing of the tails and stamping of the feet as they annoyed cows, sheep, goats and alpacas. We remain massively vigilant about fly strike although this really hot dry weather does minimize the risk thank goodness - warm and wet being perferable!!!
