Getting in the fodder
In the last three days we have had 60 straw and 100 hay bales delivered. As well as being truly knackered, we are also feeling relieved. It is always a huge comfort to know the barns are full of fodder and bedding. It is a smallholder's worst nightmare to even vaguely think they may be about to run out. Of course this time last year, we were feeding hay to the cows as the grass had stopped growing weeks ago. This year we have oodles of grass although growth has slowed down recently and we are actually rather pleased to see rain in the forecast for the end of the week.
Relaxed at Home
Fingers crossed we won't need to touch any of our hay for the sheep and cows for a good few months yet!!
