The start of our big move around began today as we moved the goats to the front of the new barn so giving them access to the 2 acre fields. Tomorrow we will bring in the sheep and alpacas for shearing on Monday and then they will head down to the bottom 3-acre and after that, the cows will be brought round to the top 3 acre. It is all part of our parasitic management in that we are getting the cows to ‘clean up’ after the goats, sheep and alpacas and so help reduce the worm burden. Fingers crossed it works as well this year as last where our worming was minimal!! The goats in the meantime got their heads stuck into the browsing and didn’t resurface for several hours: perfect!!
