The rhea are doing so well in the bottom 3-acre field. We walk the dogs in here every day and the rhea always follow us round too. They are totally unphazed by the dogs and the dogs for the main part, totally ignore them - aside from Stonefly who is utterly fascinated by them and will sit and watch them for ages or follow them around. We are still not sure about the sexes but it is only really once they are about 18 months old that is becomes really obvious. We think we have 2 grey males, possibly 3 but the whites are harder to work out at the moment.
We are beyond exited at the thought of breeding them next year – and obviously petrified.
