Savouring the view!!
We have now had a good two/three inches of snow and this morning, the only animals anxious to get out into it were the rhea, everything else was slightly less impressed!! The delicious sound of the rhea crunching the snow was only slightly marred by the fact that in places underneath their footprints, we could see dark patches of mud, just dying to ooze out! We are not looking forward to the thaw, due to start on Sunday!!
Relaxed at Home
Salt is doing okay, eating like a trouper and with a lower respiratory rate, albeit a very laboured one still!
Coriander on the other hand has a serious case of the trots – we ‘think’ from too much goat mix: not that she helped herself to any, it’s more that yesterday the goats’ morning and afternoon feeds were rather too close together and so it may have proved a bit too much for Coriander. We will stick to sugar beet and grass/ alfalfa nuts for a few days we think and see how she does.
