And then there were three...
Caraway and Spearmint headed off to a new home today. They have been bought by a local small farm who have just started up a beef business which is doing well and so needs more stock. Their plans are not to breed pure Dexters but Dexter/Angus crosses which they have already had great success with. A bit like Boer crosses with goats, you potentially get the best of both worlds: great milky mums with the Dexter genes and a good sized frame with the Angus.
Relaxed at Home
It was, as it always is whenever we sell stock, sad to see them go BUT we hope that the morning mucking out will now be a little lighter plus of course, we won’t spend as much feeding the remaining three.
Thyme bellowed for much of the rest of the afternoon and evening as we had taken away both her offspring…poor baby!!!! And yes we did feel guilty!!!
(photo is of then both back in April when Spearmint was just a few days old)
