Wet? Just a lot!!
Well, it has certainly been wet today and aside from walking the dogs in our local woods, ALL daylight hours have been spent on the holding, mucking out, feeding, topping up with straw and crucially, unblocking drainpipes, guttering and gullies. We seriously thought there were no more leaves to come down and as such no more gutters to be unblocked. How wrong we were!!
Relaxed at Home
The good news is that the goats and cows are all dry and toasty in their respective barns, the ducks and geese are enjoying the mud (!!) and the sheep and alpacas have found their field shelters to their liking and have thus spent the day eating all the hay in them. Conditions under foot in the shelters aren't great as the water is soaking through the mats a little but we piled in a load more straw this afternoon so fingers crossed the seepage will be halted.
Bizzarely, the sun made a huge effort to come out just before dusk resulting in a very ethereal misty end to the day. Our weather is full of surprises!!
