Finding a billy!
After the long and nail-biting wait for the CAE results, we heaved our massively huge sighs of relief and then immediately contacted the owner of the billy goat we had arranged to borrow to mate with our girls. Except we didn't contact him because he didn't answer his phone or pick up the messages we left him. We kept trying for a week and then reluctantly agreed we had to look elsewhere.
Relaxed at Home
We wanted an Anglo Nubian but had no joy in finding a replacement and so then we hit upon the idea of using a Boer instead. That way we would still get AN/Boer crosses but also pure Boers which could satisfy potential goat meat buyers as well as those interested in dairy.
And of course our friends Jacqui and Alan have Boers and so after a quick message exchange we are delighted to be picking up 'Soldier' at the weekend and finally being able to get our 2019 goat breeding plans underway!!
