Wobby rhea - again!!
Sadly our white rhea has become wobbly on his legs again. His first wobbly episode, three weeks ago, was worse, in that back then he couldn't walk at all for a couple of days. He can walk now but is very unbalanced and this evening when we were putting them away, he did fall over a couple of times. Tomorrow we will keep him in, in an effort to get him to rest and so see how he goes.
Relaxed at Home
It’s a huge shame because he was getting stronger each day and this is now a real set back for him. In addition we do now suspect that this may be a genetic issue and as such we probably should not be breeding from him (or her)!!
We may give him some metacam to see if that relives any pain or potential swelling. We cannot see or feel any inflammation but there may be some internally.
Poor thing! They are however, very uncomplaining animals...
