Our rhea continue to do well, with all eight mixing, eating, drinking, resting and running in equal measures. We have bought in lots of growers' pellets for them to make sure that they are getting the extra protein they need as well as good amounts of vitamins and minerals that are required to support growing youngsters. Their growth rate is far greater than the other poultry and the strain on the legs can be an issue!. From a small chicken size as a day old chick to over five foot is definitely a huge difference, albeit over a year of growing!
