Surveying their territory
Last year our young turkeys regularly came into the garden and we even had them knocking on the study windows a few times. This year, they seem to be far more interested in exploring the roofs of all our buildings. As with the sheep, we still have some for sale, although rather annoyingly, have had some reservations which have not been followed through leaving us with more left than we had wanted just for ourselves. Mind you, any over and above our usual half dozen or so won’t be an issue as they can go in the freezer and be used to feed the dogs.
Relaxed at Home
We will have five mind you that probably won’t be old enough to be dispatched until next January/ February and as such they will need to spend the winter here. We are hoping we won’t get quite the rain we did as five more turkeys inside the stables, WILL make a difference to winter workload!!! (lovely animals though they are!!)
