Apple’s ducklings were three weeks old today and so big enough to go outside without fear (fingers crossed) of being taken by corvids. The delight at seeing them enjoy their first taste of grass was kept in check as we scoured the skies and trees for any watchful rooks or crows. All was quiet and a very pleasant day was spent dabbling and sunbathing, before tucking themselves up in the stables for the night, at which point we heaved a heart-felt sigh of relief at counting all nine of them safely back inside!!
