Gloria
It wasn’t planned but today we left Gloria in the poultry paddock a couple of times and went back to the house without her. The first time was after our late morning egg check when she seemed quite happy to stay on the concrete just outside the stable, rather than following Jack out through the side gate as usual. An hour or so later we went to check on her (having kept an ear out for her cries and hearing nothing) and found her by the side gate. As soon as she saw us of course she then wanted to be with us so we opened the gate and let her through!!
Relaxed at Home
The second time was after the evening corn time but this time when we went back to check we couldn’t find her anywhere… after several near heart attacks, stomach-in-mouth moments and the urge to wail and shout; we found her in the top of the 3-acre paddock having obviously walked all the way around and then snuck under the double gates!!! She was quite happy...
It’s all part of the plan to get her less dependent on us and more comfortable at being left with all the other birds!!!
Quite how all this will pan out with Sylvester in tow, remains to be seen.
The photos by the way is of her yesterday having a swim in our garden pond!!! The things we do!!!
