Today finally, Whalsay decided to give birth and this time, we actually caught it!! We have been thinking she was close since yesterday but she kept us waiting one more night! It’s another ram lamb with more ‘cute’ white fluffy bits on his head and also on his ear and under his chin!! He was a bit of an effort to push out but he was dry, up and searching for his milk very quickly!! So, five of our six ewes have now lambed and with two sets of twins and three singles we have seven lambs in total: four rams and three ewes. We are very chuffed and must admit to preferring the black and white colours of this year over the Kulmogets of last.
Just Mrs White to go, she is now on day 154. Whalsay was on day 160!!! We expect Mrs W. will have twins as usual, although the size of her suggests at least quads (!!) but she is under orders to have all girls no matter how many she has!!
