A little unbalanced!!
The right side of Pebbles’ udder is certainly on the large size and tonight we took a whopping 2 litres out of it and it was nowhere near to being empty. The kids are just not drinking from this side at all and this is why it is so full. As well as it being very uncomfortable for her, there is a danger that this lopsidedness could become permanent so we really do need to try to encourage the kids to drink from both sides as much as possible, and until they do, milk out in order to try to get the two sides balanced.
Relaxed at Home
Our current efforts to get the kids to use the right side have not been massively successful but we will persevere, helped by the knowledge that as they get bigger and take more, they will hopefully start to naturally even things out. At the moment as well as not drinking a lot, the kids are also drinking separately but again, as they get bigger, they will start to want to drink at the same time and hopefully work out that is possible if they take a teat each!!
Other than the lopsided udder, all is well with the three of them. We have yet to name the kids mind you but ideas are starting.
