Streams!!
Today we awoke to rain and then it rained some more and more after that and we watched in horror as our green lane became a river and the water literally poured off the Govier’s field into ours! It was all quite spectacular to look at: but not so great to see damp straw in the field shelters and the growing number of hoof prints in the softening land... The other end of the land faired no better with a stream running parallel to the hedge at the bottom of the 4-acre, straight under the gate into the bottom 3-acre and then out through the gate onto the Crocham’s land.

By the end of the day it had rained itself out but once again, we had standing water on top of the land as the water table is just sooo high!!!.
We walked around the bottom 3-acre where the cows are and decided it could all be a lot worse (!!) BUT we made the cows promise to tread lightly and not run around!!!
