Without wishing to sound boring, it rained today. We do see signs of grass growth but on the whole all our fields are looking battered and in many cases yellow. We actually need the bottom 3-acre in particular to be grazed to encourage new growth but as said yesterday, it is too wet.
Shockingly this photo is from 26th March last year - just look at that grass!! Last March the lowest temperature we recorded in the greenhouse was 7 degrees C. This year it has been -4! Overall it has been much colder month and far wetter than usual. This time last year we had a greenhouse full of seedlings, this year most are still inside our own windowsills with us wondering when it might be warm anough to transfrer them!!!
It had better be a jolly good summer after all this…
