Geese are a-laying
The excitement with the geese continues as we now have some laying going on INSIDE the stables, although quite whether this will work if one or both of the geese actually go broody remains to be seen. This is Barbara again laying just inside the doorway which, whilst not ideal, is definitely preferable to the compost heap. The funny thing is though that Margot had been laying here but now she has decided the compost heap is a better place whilst Barbara has decided the opposite!!
Relaxed at Home
We are getting an egg a day now with each bird laying every other day. We are leaving the ones in the nest here and taking the ‘compost heap’ eggs up to the house to store until we are ready to give them to a broody chicken or two. Currently we three broodies although until the weather perhaps gets a tad warmer we may postpone putting any eggs under them. We want the conditions to be as ideal as possible!!!
