Onions and garlic
We planted the onion sets and garlic bulbs back on 10th January and within a week we had our first green shoots pushing through. They are growing in a newly made raised bed that David put together before Christmas and that over the course of a week, was then filled with fresh manure from Jack’s mucking out of the chicken and cow sheds, before being topped up with spent compost from our last year’s planting bags.
Relaxed at Home
The glass frames on top are from the dismantled bits of an old greenhouse that was left here when we moved. When the sun shines, the warmth you can feel if you put your hand underneath is remarkable. We hope to harvest this lot late summer!
