All quiet!!
After the excitement of Onion and Carlos consummating their ‘marriage’ within hours of Carlos’ arrival (back on 3rd), all has been quiet since then. Coriander has shown vague signs of coming into season but we have kept her well away from Carlos as she is way too young. And as yet, nothing from Sorrel - and we wonder if she will stick to her cycle now and so not come back into season until 18-21 days after her last one, which would make the earliest date the 12th, i.e. next Tuesday.
Relaxed at Home
He is being very well behaved, albeit smelly with it. It will probably take a while before his smells leaves the barn!!!
Lovely though it is to have him, we hope we won’t have him for too long as we really want to be able to go and collect Pebbles and bring her back here and cannot do that until he is gone. This is due to standstill rules which state that once a goat moves ONTO your holding, nothing can go OFF for six whole days. Thus if we brought Pebbles onto our land, Carlos would be stuck here for another week anyway, irregardless if he had served Sorrel and was ready to go home!
It’s not that we are impatient...
