Carlos
And here is the boy – Carlos, who is a very impressive, very big pedigree Anglo Nubian! And, we might add, a very gentle giant. He belongs to Joyce and Steve Greenslade, and is just 19 months old. As the photo suggests, he showed a lot of interest in Onion and this evening, he worked his charms. Onion came into season within just a few hours of Carlos arriving and this evening he served her – several times!!
Relaxed at Home
In theory, Sorrel is due to come into season around 15th as her last one was the 24th November and the cycle is approximately 21 days but… our hope is that having Carlos here will make her come into season much earlier.
We are now set for lambing from 13th to 24th April and for kidding from 27th April, although Pebbles was serviced on 14th November which, if she took, would give her a due date of 8th April. And then there are the cows, both due in May.
This year we have no March births, which is what we planned as despite it being a good winter last year, March still felt just little bit too early to have youngsters around. Tis all very, very exciting!!!
