Queens of all they survey...
These are two of our remaining four female ducks – ideally we need to sell them but we have got quite fond of these two. They are VERY free range and independent, spending very little of their days in the poultry paddock. One of their favourite places is this fence just by the stables and first thing each morning, they usually like to perch here overlooking the garden.
Relaxed at Home
If we don’t sell them before the winter really sets in we will keep hold of them till next spring and sell them as layers.
We also have a fair few Indian Games and IG crosses left from this year’s breeding. Four of the IG are cockerels and we need to choose just two to keep. All the others are females but some of them will end up in the freezer if we don’t sell them – it will be a shame but there will be too many to take through till next year!!!
In better selling news though, we have now sold all our remaining lambs with just two now destined for the freezer (as planned).
