On guard!!
A misty evening and the alpacas on guard as we appear at the bottom gate with the dogs!!
It is heartening to know that although they know our dogs, they still go into protective mode when they see them and stand between them and the sheep. We hope they never need to protect our lambs and kids from the fox or badger but if they did, we do feel confident, they would do a good job.
Relaxed at Home
Neptune by the way, continues to have his wicked way with Venus, who most of the time lets him get on with it until he has had enough!!! He has not been quite so frequent with his advances recently so maybe the colder weather is putting him off... we hope so. Rachel from Market Vets has said there is nothing we can do other than separate them which we think will cause a lot of stress so unless we think Venus is not coping with it, we are going to keep our fingers crossed that Neptune’s testosterone levels just naturally fall.
Pluto is doing really well, we are down to five feeds a day and he pretty much always takes between 150 and 200 ml a feed. He is the same size as Mars although we haven’t weighted either of them for a while. He continues to be easily distracted but that’s just him now, love him to bits.
