It's been a year!
It is a year to the day since we took delivery of our Dexters and what an utterly amazing first year we have had. We are very, very smitten with our cows and to have such a successful first year's calving and a clear TB test has only added to our delight!
Winter cow keeping is hard for sure but there is the joy of having the cows 'up close and personal' that helps to balance against the rigours of mucking out. And then there is the spring, summer and autumn when we have views like this!!
Relaxed at Home
We have now passed the time period for Sage to have come back into season - 18-21 ish days since she was AI-ed – and we are on day 20 with Thyme with no sign! We are not counting our luck yet though as after missing Parsley’s seasons, we know they can be tricky to spot, although with Sage we had been seeing them every 21 days and whilst only catching Thyme once before we then AI-ed, her season was very obvious and easy to spot. Parsley is due from 6th so we will be keeping a VERY close eye on her from the middle of next week!
We will get all three scanned by Rachel at Market Vets at the start of next month and then we will know for sure. This will be more nerve wracking than when we had the TB test done!!!
